The month of June brings with it a certain excitement which is absent in other months. It is the month of Academic beginnings. A month when children go to a new class. A new beginning where they learn new concepts, ideas. Make new friends.
Well, the Sion Wadala Samiti celebrated its June month Mahila Day in a similar manner. Lots of learning, getting introduced to new concepts and applying their bhajan knowledge of their entire lifetime in this 1.5 hour activity. It was a Bhajan Antakshari Program for the Mahilas by the Mahilas of the Samithi. The details of the antakshari rounds were informed in advance to the participants so that they could prepare for it.
Days prior to the program, there was feverish studying of Bhajan Books and mock rounds amongst the participants within their teams. It was as though the participants were gearing up for "Board Exams of Bhajans!"
5 teams, namely SATHYA, DHARMA, SHANTI, PREMA & AHIMSA were pre-formed. Each of the teams had 4 participants. In all, there were 20 Mahila participated in this fun event which was conducted online on Zoom. A separate 4-member team of mahilas took up the task of conducting the program. This included hosting the event, gathering and compiling of media to be used for the antakshari rounds, Time-keeping, Score-board and answers ratification. A lot of planning and effort went into the groundwork of organizing the event.
Finally, the D-day dawned, 19th Jun'2021. The program began as usual with Vedam. Mantrapushpam was chanted by a Mahila Youth. After that, all participants were explained the rules of the games. All participants were asked to name their login with the Team Name followed by their name. Eg.: Sathya - Nilima, Ahimsa - Indira, etc. 5 rounds played were in all.

Health care is medical care, education and nutrition. You all are doing all the three. An anti-ballistic missile has been launched by Baba against poverty through education, water and healthcare.
I have been to several hospitals of repute in various parts of the world, but I have not seen anywhere so magnificent a medical institution as Sri Bhagwan Baba's Institute. Another instance of his divine gift to our people.
There is something special about the intangible atmosphere of this place. Every teacher seems to know intuitively that the institute of higher learning is also a venue of higher behaviour and a seat of higher understanding.
The Sri Sathya Sai Edu care Programme must be implemented in the very fundamentals of the education policy of the country.
One has to follow the wonderful teachnigs of Baba. Basically we follow themes such as Work is Worship, do your duty 100%, Love others, Scarifice for others, understand other's difficulties and help them if possible.
Baba gave a practical demonstration of his vision of an enlightened India, by creating an environment where a young mind can seek knowledge or a sick person can receive care, at their door-steps.
We visited the hospital and I was awestruck at the highly advanced technology that was used to reach out to the most needy. And the care given would exceed even the swankiest corporate hospitals. All this without accepting a single rupee in return.
After I met Baba in 2007 I was energized spiritually, creatively and physically. I got HIS message to spread love through music and he gave the energy to do so. He gives me Darshan in my ring (an emerald ring gifted by HIM) every day.
During HIS years working for the society through great amounts of work concentrating on building institutions and infrastructures to help the poor and the deprived, HE built up a massive following and believers that were completely in awe of the man and HIS work for the masses.
Baba might not be present physically, but I still connect with HIM in my dreams. That's whrere I draw strenght from. HE will always be with me.
As government, we fully support the underlying principle on which Sathya Sai Schools operate, namely human values based education that prepares pupils for life, qualifying them as valuable assets to the society that they are entering.
